San Francisco-based DJ Nitrogen is changing the landscape of mobile content distribution with a legal solution to sharing user edits of copyrighted content. Powering this solution is the DJ Nitrogen Mobile Content Collaboration Platform and its patent-pending "recipe-sharing" technologies. The "recipe" is the metadata created when a user applies edits to the content. For example, in a ringtone this is the start and stop points, fades and any special effects. DJ Nitrogen stores these metadata recipes and enables other users who own the same source media file access to the recipe so they can replicate the edits. Users share only the metadata, not the actual media files.

The first application to launch from the platform is the Ringtone Lab, which lets users create custom ringtones from the music they own and access "ringtone recipes" made by others who own the same music. The newly launched Ringtone Lab for the iPhone is the most robust ringtone editor available for the iPhone and, of course, it's the only iPhone ringtone solution using the DJ Nitrogen recipe sharing technology.

Our "Powered by DJ Nitrogen" white label solution allows brands and partner sites to leverage the Ringtone Lab and create richer experiences for their site visitors while generating new recurring revenue streams.
